SHIFT is a short film set in 1950s rural Italy. A boy silently observes his family's quiet life: his father's exhaustion after losing his job, his mother's contained absence, the small gaps in everyday gestures. When a glass bottle breaks on the kitchen floor, he picks up a single green-amber glass fragment and holds it to the light. Through it, the world shifts, not dramatically but just enough. The same faces, the same gestures, seen with a different quality of attention. He builds rudimentary eyeglasses from wood scraps and wire, using the fragment as a lens. Years later, as an adult designer, he places a refined pair of eyeglasses in a shop window; their lenses carrying a barely perceptible green-amber tint. A memory, translated into form.
SHIFT is a film about perception. About how the quality of attention changes what is visible. And about how a single moment of seeing clearly can become the work of a lifetime.
All characters in the film, including the child protagonist, are digital figures generated entirely using AI. No real minors or persons were filmed or appear in the production. Duration: 2 minutes 16 seconds · Format: MP4, 1920×1080, 30fps · Language: No dialogue · Country: Italy · Year: 2026
