NOWHASH - Selected Works Reel

Cinema at NOWHASH: an opening title sequence studio in Italy, based in Rome, working on main titles and title sequence design for Netflix, Sky and Prime Video film and series, including the opening titles of ZEROZEROZERO and Il Mostro. CinemaTitles don't introduce the story. They begin it.

A title sequence is not an introduction added at the end. It is the first way a story enters the world.

IL MOSTROOpening title sequence

When the subject cannot be invented, the language has to come from the evidence. Cuts, clippings, reconstructed crime material and real footage became the structure of the sequence.

Three directions led to one visual system: the cut itself - ending in a title built from the letters it leaves behind.

ADAGIOTitle design / Opening sequence

The title does not appear over the fire. It emerges through it. Heat distortion, particles and images became part of the same visual atmosphere.

Starting from the film’s opening fire, the sequence turns heat itself into a way of revealing the title.

The bison were real. When 3D could not reproduce the weight, hair and slow-motion movement we needed, we went out and filmed it for real.

A 12-second reveal built from live-action, compositing, particles and type.

ZEROZEROZEROMain title sequence

A global route turned into a visual spine. Two minutes and twelve seconds of fully 3D storytelling, developed over eight months.

The route became the visual spine of the sequence.

DEVILSLogo design / Title sequence identity

The sequence was built from real financial footage. The challenge was to give that material a distinctive identity, starting from the logo itself.

After extensive typeface research, the final mark was developed and brought into 3D. Its restrained reveal gives a thin, precise logo an unexpected physical presence.

    Film & Series Communication

A film does not enter the world through one image alone.

Titles, key art, artwork, visual identity, trailers and mood films belong to one visual language. A title sequence is part of the film and part of its identity at once: we treat it as storytelling, not as promotional material. When only one of these is needed we work on that alone; when all of them are needed they stay coherent because they come from the same direction.

    What we do

Opening titles / Development and prototyping

The language of titles is evolving. The need for a point of view isn't.

We conceive opening titles and make a creative direction visible before final production, using traditional, generative or hybrid workflows. Prototyping a title in motion lets us evaluate rhythm, material, atmosphere and transitions while the decisions still matter. Only then do we choose the right production method: practical, 3D, generative or hybrid.

SHADOW PLAYTitle sequence development and prototyping

Development material, not a commissioned title. The video carries the NOWHASH.AI manifesto rather than film titles: it shows how storyboard, light and sequence make a direction possible to judge.
